XV International Symposium "Problems of Redundancy in Information and Control Systems" is the conference that covers a wide area of aspects of information and communication systems. It will be held in Saint-Petersburg, Russia in 26-29 September 2016.
The main goal of the Symposium foundation is reinforcement of cooperation between the representatives of various scientific schools, a possibility for the participants to get awareness of the latest scientific and technical achievements and sharing their experience with colleagues.
The Symposium on redundancy in the information systems has a rich history. The first Symposium was initiated by professor N.A. Zheleznov in 1964 and covered a wide range of topics disclosing the problems of analysis and synthesis of the systems, having structural, logical and functional redundancy. There were 13 symposiums held in the period from 1964 till 2012, among the participants of which were hundreds of specialists in information theory, coding theory, system and communication networks, automatic control systems, computer science and mathematic simulation. The Symposium was initiated as interdisciplinary, aimed at the interaction of ideas between various branches of informatics.

Information theory is a branch of applied mathematics, electrical engineering, bioinformatics, and computer science involving the quantification of information.Applications of fundamental topics of information theory include lossless data compression, lossy data compression, and channel coding.
Coding theory is the study of the properties of codes and their fitness for a specific application. Codes are used for data compression, cryptography, error-correction and more recently also for network coding.
Cryptography is the practice and study of techniques for secure communication in the presence of adversaries. More generally, it is about constructing and analyzing protocols that overcome the influence of adversaries and which are related to various aspects in information security such as data confidentiality, data integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation.
Combinatorics is a branch of mathematics concerning the study of finite or countable discrete structures. Aspects of combinatorics include counting the structures of a given kind and size, deciding when certain criteria can be met, and constructing and analyzing objects meeting the criteria.
A software system consists of several separate computer programs and associated configuration files, documentation, etc., that operate together. The concept is used in the study of large and complex software, because it focuses on the major components of software and their interactions. It is also related to the field of software architecture.
Cloud computing is a concept used to describe a variety of computing concepts that involve a large number of computers connected through a real-time communication network such as the Internet.
Signal processing is an area of systems engineering, electrical engineering and applied mathematics that deals with operations on or analysis of analog as well as digitized signals, representing time-varying or spatially varying physical quantities.
DNA computing is a form of computing which uses DNA, biochemistry and molecular biology, instead of the traditional silicon-based computer technologies. DNA computing, or, more generally, biomolecular computing, is a fast developing interdisciplinary area. Research and development in this area concerns theory, experiments, and applications of DNA computing.
